"It is not what you look at that matters (sensory level), but what you see (perception)" ... by H. Thoreau
At AQUARIUS we love nature, its dynamics, and of course "catching that special moment"... We are avid photographers and love to transmit our sense of surprise as we encounter the beauty underneath. We offer photo safaris in the protected marine park for photographers that need their time and support in feeling comfortable while photo diving. And we offer both basic digital photo courses and underwater photo development tailored to your personal needs. The area offers plenty of spots for super macro, macro, and wide angle settings.
Basic courses are offered with your own personal camera or with one of our available ones (Fuji F31, EXR200 or Sea&Sea DX1G). More advanced courses may include your camera equipment or our Olympus EPL1 and strobes. In our advanced coursework we also include an overview of basic techniques of our "photolab" where we use software programs to "develop" the pictures. The basic course requires a minimum of 2 dives.
For the advanced or professional photographers we plan the dive sites depending on the subjects that need to be focused on:
- for MACRO we often go to the Chrisso wreck and allow ample time (we are in shallow waters!) to shoot both the large variety of organisms or the coreagraphy of this 90 meter wreck.
- for WIDE ANGLE we often go to Tedja Liscia or Secca del Papa where rock formations, gorgonians, and/or larger fish give plenty of challenge.
